After the just concluded round 2 of auctioning off players, it looks like the BCCI is also going to hold round 3 of the auctions. Now that the IPL has gained so much hype and popularity already, many foreign players are ditching their home cricket boards to take part in the IPL. Another reason could be that Australia’s tour of Pakistan has been cancelled, and that may make some new players available for the IPL suddenly from both Australia and Pakistan. The England Cricket board also has been showing signs of weakness, issues No Objection Certificates to some players that will let them play in the IPL.
Why is this important? Well, some teams have exausted their $5 million limit for contracting players, so this may be the time to pick up some good players at a discount for the other teams that have not fully stocked up. There may be some very good pickings in this round.
