The MBA folks have always got the best and the most lucrative jobs in finance and consulting, but this is a new trend. The Delhi Daredevils team, run by the infrastructure company GMR, has hired an IIM A grad to be the Assistant Vice-President (Operations) for the team, for a reported pay package of ~30 Lacs.
Colonel Vinod Bisht, after spending 2 decades in the armed forces joined IIM A to switch into a civilian career, and is also a self-admitted cricket fan. This job probably is probably the dream job for him, and he admits he’s excited
This is great news. The spread of professionally managed cricket teams can only be good, and will go a long way to remove the bureaucratic mess that the state of cricket in India was.
